Al-Haqq Foundation was founded on the west side of Indianapolis by Imam Muhammad Ndiaye in 2006. Begun as a Qur’an school offering children’s classes in memorization, tajweed, and Arabic, the foundation is now also a mosque welcoming around 500 worshippers every Friday for jumu’ah. Al-Haqq Foundation also has weekly classes for adults in fiqh, Arabic, sirah, and more.
Imam Muhammad Ndiaye is from Senegal, West Africa. He holds a BA in Education and American Literature and Civilization from Cheihk Anta Diop University in Africa. Imam Muhammad comes from a lineage of scholars on both his mother’s and father’s side. Having memorized the Qur’an by age thirteen, he furthered his studies in tafsir and fiqh, as well as studying under his great-uncle, Shaykh El Hadji Soce Ndiaye in Senegal. As a speaker of Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Wolof, Imam Muhammad first came to the United States as a French teacher and taught English as a second language as well before becoming Imam at multiple Indianapolis mosques. Imam Mohamed then founded Al-Haqq Foundation in 2006 as a Qur’an school, which has now grown into a mosque as well.
