Masjid Al Fajr

Serving Muslims in Indianapolis since 1970

The Story

Masjid Al Fajr was founded in 1970 to serve the central Indianapolis Muslim community and is the oldest continuously running masjid in Indianapolis. The community is led by Imam Ahmed Alamine and offers classes and halaqas for both adults and children. This masjid is under the umbrella of the Islamic Muslim Community Association (IMCA), which also includes a K-12 school (MTI School of Knowledge), Al Ilm Weekend School (Qur’an and Islamic Studies), a free medical clinic (Hoosier Crescent Foundation), and the IMCA food pantry which regularly serves 450+ local people at their Sunday morning distributions.
